NEW ARRIVALS
Reissue on Giuda's own Fungo Records. Sleeve slightly different from the Dead Beat versions. Working from the same glammy three-chord blueprint as contemporaries like Slade, T. Rex, Status Quo, and the Sweet, GIUDA take you back to a monumental by gone era of Rock N Roll. Specifically the early 70's pre-punk, glitter days when music was all about monstrous riffs, bousterous attitudes, high energy experimentation and fun. GIUDA take that same glammy, proto-punk foundation and fuse it with the grimy, tattered muck of bands like Eddie And The Hot Rods, The Pack, PVC and The Kids to create a timeless arsenal of glam injected, pub rock classics. Top notch glitter-fused, punk rock slop that has as much to do with the Faces and Slaugher and the Dogs as it does the UK Junk Shop bands from the '70's' like Hector, Plod and the Rats. Absolutely crushing full length here. Ex-members of TAXI.
KNICKERBOCKERS - LIES
The Lies LP, recorded in Hollywood with songwriting contributions from the likes of Glen Campbell, Jim Seals and Jerry Fuller, surrounds its iconic title hit with an eclectic assortment of tunes, including the catchy melodic gems "I Can Do It Better" and "Just One Girl, the widescreen pop experiment "I Believe in Her" and distinctive renditions of the durable standards "Youll Never Walk Alone" and "Harlem Nocturne." Although they ironically rode the faux-English sound of "Lies" to chart success, the Knickerbockers were actually seasoned live performers who were adept at whipping Garden State crowds into a frenzy long before the British Invasion hit U.S. shores. The quartets prowess as a high-energy live act is apparent on these two vintage LPs, originally released on Gene Autrys fabled Challenge label. Both albums brilliantly reflect the bands distinctive blend of Beatlesque jangle, garage grit and frat-rock adrenaline. Out of print in its original LP format for nearly half a century, this vintage 60s gem has been sourced from the original mono tapes and pressed on 180 gram vinyl, with complete original cover art. TRACK LIST: 1. Lies 2. I Can Do It Better 3. Can't You See I'm Tryin' 4. Please Don't Fight It 5. Just One Girl 6. I Believe in Her 7. Wishful Thinking 8. You'll Never Walk Alone 9. Your Kind of Lovin' 10. Harlem Nocturne.

Featuring Mark Arm (MUDHONEY, BLOODLOSS), Steve Turner (MUDHONEY), Tim Kerr (BIG BOYS), Martin Bland (BLOODLOSS), and Tom Price (U-MEN), Seattle's Monkeywrench delivers a collection of powerful tunes sounding somewhere between Mudhoney and the psychedelic sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators.
EXPECTED
BATES, BIG JOHN - BATTERED BONES
Produced by Robert Ferbrache (16 Horsepower, Woven Hand, Slim Cessna), this is a delivery of razor sharp, Gretsch dominated, rock, bringing to mind a hard drive over dirt roads in a flat black 69 Charger. Bates is the former singer of Annihilator. He teamed up with Hofner Strings' Brandy Bones, whos love for old-school country infects her voice inside her often bleak lyrics, while the band harnesses a wall of sound in a style she has christened 'Rustic Punk'. LP version.

NEW SURFRIDERS - KOKOMO/GOOD VIBRATIONS
Norton launches its new POPULAR DEMAND SERIES with stunning covers of two Beach Boys chart toppers by the New Surfsiders! This exciting brawny, suntanned threesome carry on the semi-musical tradition of the legendary sixties budget album THE SURFSIDERS PLAY THE BEACH BOYS SONGBOOK (which featured a young Lou Reed in full Mike Love warble on several tracks), a tradition that seemed unapproachable until now! Add some twisted music to your day!
RIPPERS (ITALY) - BETTER THE DEVIL YOU KNOW
Calling all mods, rockers and punk-ass freaks everywhere! The bastard sons of the Stones and Pretty Things live in Italy and this is their steamin' 2012 album. Recalling the nastiest records of '90s legends The Makers put out before they turned into Elton John, Rippers 1, 2, 3 and 4 (that's their names, dammit!) blaze through eleven tracks of hyper-speed 1960s style rhythm n' beat shakers delivered with the deadliest of punk snarl, fully raunched-out harmonica wail, drum beats tighter than their own pegged trousers, and their signature stinging string-bending wickedry. Vinyl edition.
SUBSONICS - IN THE BLACK SPOT
Atlanta's bad-ass bittersweet popsters deliver more primitive rhythms and catchy riffs galore! Subsonics have been called the "Best band in Atlanta" by fellow Georgians BLACK LIPS and for good reason: previous works by this beatnik, noir-punk careen machine have left indelible marks, or black spots if you will, on the psyche of big-bam-boom-shang-a-lang rockers the world over during their nearly two-decade tenure. This new album brings more of singer Clay Reed's petulant, masculine-feminine vocals and surreal lyricism, shaken up with his signature garroted guitar, Buffi Agueros inventive, incessantly churning drumming, and Rob Delbueno's (Man? Or Astroman?) rolling basement bass. On this latest spin, previously unwritten, yet eerily familiar, melodies echo in the catacombs of America's soul and ring throughout with a childish enthusiasm, like a funky delinquent's budget bubblegum album. That we really have here is an obsessive, detached drop-in to an after-hours opium den, where Super-8 movies are projected onto a soiled sheet, and the soundtrack is undeniably Subsonics.
