Yeah -- I know -- I'm the only person on here with a fascination for these women, but damn, if you watch the video with the volume off, you can learn a thing or two about what they're doing. And it is sooo punk -- old style.
Uh, yuh -- I wish these women could really play -- alas, the songs aren't what they should be. Imagine how amazing it would be if the band was awesome AND they were doing the things they're doing -- mad invasions of chic boutiques to protest the oligarchy, shit like that. Where's a Russian Malcolm McLaren when you need one?
In the meantime -- watch this one -- love the looks from shop patrons, like WTF?
Comment by John Battles on February 11, 2012 at 11:25pm Yeah , you gotta admit , though , the color coded stockings and ski masks are great...The hell of it is , people would LOVE this in the states. It reminds me of the final scene in "Times Square" , only crazier !
Comment by melissa scott on February 12, 2012 at 4:12am It takes some serious ovaries to do what they are doing. I am not sure how many people get how incredibly radical these women are. Seems kinda naff to us, but in Russia, it would be absolutely insane to do what they are doing. I'm still amazed how close they got to the Kremlin!
Yeah, the stockings and masks are very cool. I really do wish the music was amazing -- they'd get more serious coverage in the West that way.
