RadiOblivion No.59 - Destination: Space!

As John Drew Barrymore said: "The only thing square about this world is that cats what live in it!" So let's get out of here for a 59 minute trip to outer space with Michael Kaiser and RadiOblivion Wild & Primitive... LIVE, space rangers!

Starting off with Thee Headcoats' declaration of I Wasn't Made For This World, we then fire up our Space Jeeps with New Mexico's the Scrams. Once we break out of the atmosphere we've gotta dodge nearby bodies such as satellites and meteors with the Vulcaneers before making it to the moon where we get the sounds of lunar stomps by the Charles Napiers, the Sharks and Deacon & the Rock-n-Rollers. Next stop: Mars with Frosty & the Diamonds, Terry Dunavan and the Gazmen. We continue further in to the great beyond with Fabienne Delsol, Danny Wheeler and Batmobile before touching down on Uranus with the Treblemakers. A quick glance at our sun-dial shows we've gotta head back to this mortal coil quick-like with Mondo Topless! A bunch more POUNDERS fill in the gaps along the way, but typing in zero gravity (there ain't no such thing, by the way) is tedious with these gloves on. Back to squaresville, pops.

Holy spaceshit Mr Kaiser !!!
Would you believe me if I told you I was about to record a new episode of THE HOUSE OF WILD DELIGHTS all about SPACE !!!
Guess I'll have to listen to RADIOBLIVION #59 first and then compare the playlists...unless I look for another silly theme...
The funny thing is that the last time I planned to record a SPACE show, our friend Mr A the Barber posted his own YOU GOT GOOD TASTE podcast about Space just as I was about to post mine...
History repeating they say !
I'd better look for an original theme now..or forget about theme show...
Anyway, I'll listen to RADIOBLIVION #59 with a great pleasure !!!Cheers from outer space !!!

Bah! I wouldn't worry too much about that, Preacher man. Put together whatever show moves ya, whenever. This playlist was technically cheating. I've got my in-laws in town (which makes it hard to hear yerself think, much less put thought into a playlist) and had gotten a message from Nate of the Scrams yesterday morning about some new tracks. I wanted to play "Space Jeeps" and decided to build a show around that. A quick word search or two in the iTunes device netted me a playlist in about 3 minutes flat. Phew! That was easy.

But, if'n we all worried about what the other GPPN folks were playing we'd just cripple our bad-selves, y'know?

And I recently put together a space-themed promo for my show, too. Maybe we're all done with this planet?

Oh, feel easy Herr Kaiser, I don't worry...but I do care about other podcasters' playlists.
Still, I'll record my own space show but will wait a little before posting it !
Take care of your in-laws while I'm listening to this episode 59 and look forward my week-end slice of Mojo Workout !
Keep the fun job Kaiser !

You scooped me on The Scrams! (Makes sense though -- you first alerted me to this band from my home state) I'm playing another track on the next Big Enchilada.

Cool show. Some great rockabilly cuts.

Good song choices with the Batmobile and the Sharks. Enjoyed this, thank you.
