Another Christmas is done and dusted and the clock is ticking down the days until the end of 2010. Join Mike Stax for UGLY THINGS ON THE RADIO, two big hours of the very best in garage, rock’n’roll, freakbeat, and psychedelia, plus weird tales and random musing to amuse, amaze and astonish you.

TONIGHT: The Seeds, the Sonics, the Sons of Adam, Link Wray, Mad Mike Metrovich, 1-2-6, the Nashville Ramblers, the Flamin’ Groovies, the Rolling Stones, Shy Limbs, Tomorrow, and a special tribute to the late, great Don Van Vliet, a.k.a. Captain Beefheart. Plus lots more as yet undecided but sure to be wonderful sounds from past, present and future dimensions.

Hey Joe,

I haven't heard any news on that Sons of Adam release. I'll check in with Alec Palao and see what I can find out for you.

Enjoyed that a lot.. a good mix of the familiar and no so familiar, great to hear the Nashville Ramblers track again after a while.  Time to revisit Children Of Nuggets.

Great stuff Mike, I got the 3 Mad Mike LPs at Xmas and have they haven't left the turntable since.

Whoa, that Loons track is damn good... you can hear it immediately following Flamin' Groovies at their best and experience no loss in quality... I'm having a great time hear going through all of Mike's broadcasts on the kitchen PC while cooking & eating lunch and dinner... let music be the food of whatever, yeah.

Thanks. That's quite a compliment, Patrick. Pleased to hear you're enjoying the show.

I always listen to internet radio without looking at the playlist, either to be surprised or to try and "name that tune", and so when the Loons track came on after the Groovies, I had no idea what it was -- thus, my comment is a scientifically objective acid testimony to its quality.

Are UT broadcasts #1 and #2 available anywhere to stream? I googled up and down but couldn't find them. A webpage with direct links to all broadcasts in one place wouldn't be bad to have.

The first two episodes were done for a different radio station so I didn't upload those at the time. I will do that soon as I still have the files and will let you know the link.
