Yea, if you are into similar "subcultural" stuff, I guess the degrees of seperation amongst your different circle of friends diminishes. I still meet people for the first time who have known other aquantances of mine for years. Kind of like this I guess.
When is your friend's Tattoo convention? Me and my son are heading up to the Sequoias July 9th thru about the 15th. I was already thinking of Making a detour on the way up or back. Would be a good excuse to say hi to Johnny. You said you are on FB, does the convention have a event thingy there? I think I'm a "fan" of the shop, so maybe I'll find it there.
Wow, small world indeed. Haven't seen Johnny in a long time. We decided to cut through Merced at the last moment on a trip up 49 and it was Easter sunday so we gave Johnny no notice and the shop wasn't open, maybe next time. So did you know John from your time in the cerritos/aresia area? That was his neck of the woods growing up. Look forward to seeing your completed work by Johnny, Will look for the pics then.
Thanks for the request, we just cruised through Merced last week. My old friend Johnny tattoos at Main Street Tattoo in your town. We'll have to keep an eye out if your team rolls into our town.
Roller Derby Rules! Check our Band http://www.myspace.com/theroyalhangmen. Tell me if you like it. Think one Song is on the Next Soutbbay Pork. I'd love to go to Cali one Day. Cheerio

Wow, that sounds JUST like me. Well, except for the "girl" part.
