The Tempters were part of Japan's Group Sounds pop music era in the 1960s.
In February 1969 the Tempters released their second album 5-1=0, their coded statement of band unity. A number of the songs were written by Matsuzaki, making them one of the few bands that wrote a significant amount of their own material. "Tell Me More" and "Kono Mune ni Dakishimete" from this album have appeared on compilations outside of Japan. This version of the song is different from the one on their album 5-1=0.
