"I Will Always Love You" was originally a big country hit by Dolly Parton in 1974. She did a much better job than Whitney Houston.

And I completely agree with "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?" That song is wretched. But then again it comes from a Disney movie, so what do you expect?

Here's a few more from me:

Anything by Paul Anka, especially "Having My Baby" (I guess I could give it credit for being the opposite of what was known then as Women's Lib, but it's still a lousy song.

Anything by John Menstrualcramp (And yes, I'm from the same state as that talentless yahoo, but do I have to like him, too? "Jack and Diane" especially gets on my nerves, but any time I hear his annoying voice and "Midwestern" platitudes, it makes me violently ill.)

Anything by Journey (Talk about sickening.)

Anything by Bob Seger after 1974 (He made some great records with The Last Heard, but was more popular in the mid 70s onward. His list of heinous crimes from this period is massive. "Night Moves," "Old Time Rock 'n' Roll" (a song tame enough for Tom Cruise to dance in his undies too, which shows you how desperate it is), "Still The Same," "Against The Wind" (but then, what do you expect from being in conjunction with The Eagles?) and on and on. The nightmare continues.)

"The Heart of Rock 'n' Roll" and "Hip To Be Square" by Huey Useless and the Lose. (Granted anything by this band is guaranteed to suck, but these two are the worst offenders.)

"Stay (I Missed You)" by Lisa Loeb and Nine Stories (One of the most annoying songs ever made by anyone, anywhere.)

"All I Wanna Do" by Sheryl Crow (Again, anything this witch does makes me violently sick, but this one especially grates on my fragile nerves.)

"We Built This City" by Starshit (Most annoying song about rock ever made. With it's bland synth-pop arrangement, it's actually pro-corporate rock and that's what makes it so hideous.)

"Mmmbop" by Hanson (I can only hope these guys have faded away at last.)

I'm sure I can come up with more.

Mr Yates, I have decided you are a truly evil man.

I happily had Action Woman swirling about the insides of my head all through the previous week. Since reading this thread last night I now have the following lines, and the sickening sounds of the screechy accordian that go along with it, kicking about in there:

With your designer topless swimsuit
You get such an even suntan
On your legs and on your back
Yes, you do

What's your address so I can charge a box of anti-nauseants to you?

It's still rock 'n' roll to me is a great song. Great lyrics:
"There's a new band in town but you can't get the sound from a story in a magazine aimed at your average teen." so true. I think Glass Houses has a handful of good songs.

I like Don't Bring Me Down, too.

The restof the list pretty accurate, though.

What contemptible list of horror could be complete without "Cats in The Cradle"; and knowing the next song on the Radio is either going to be Piano Man or Mr. Bojangles only adds to the torture. The whole genre of parables is puke inducing fodder for ear maggots.
"Rocky Raccoon" and "Heart of Gold" are two more that should face a class action suits for causing untold suffering.

Shakin' All Over = white trash crap with Penthouse Forum lyrics (Quivers down my thigh bone YUCK!)

Do Wah Diddy = irritating, moronic boy-meets-girl shit at it's worst

Rock 'N Roll High School= cookie cutter Ramones with bland, phoned in performance

Okay, you guys, this is getting a little too easy. Yeah, Bee Gees suck, Van Halen sucks, so what? What Garage/Punk classics do you NOT like? I want to hear what "beloved" garage-punk songs do you actually hate hearing?

Well, hopefully I wont get ostracized for this but I don't like Elvis, The Clash or The Ramones. I think they're all a little bit boring. There. I said it.

Not a big Clash fan, either. The Damned and the Stranglers were better in their prime.

haha, meatloaf is a fat piece of shit. His retarded fans can whatever they want that shits not rocknroll its crap and the beach boys make me wanna stab myself with sharp things, you forgot anything by jimmy buffet thats gotta be the worst music ever made and what would billy joel know about rocknroll.

Agghh lets ostracize him! Ha ha.

I'll be You Mirror - Velvet Underground (I hate the sound of Nico's voice)
We Will Fall - Stooges (does anyone like that song?)
Loose - Stooges (stick it deep inside?)
Leave My House - Modds (not too bad, but overrated)
Mud In You're Eye - Les Fleur De Lys (guitar isn't too bad. Everything else is boring)
I also don't really like the vocals on any Pere Ubu song I've ever heard.

I'm sure there's more. Maybe that'll be enough stir up some cries of dissent.

I'd have to add Pink Floyds - Money. The minute the coin pull down starts... The radio played it way too many times

Reply to This

Hell, the radio played the entire "Dark Side of the Moon" one too many times, just like they do anything by Led Zeppelin, "Stairway to Heaven" being the most obvious example. Both Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin are big bores.
