Whats your favourite albums from the first Punk era 76-80 ?

I love the first Clash album...so much damn energy...and it sounds today more like an English garage band than so called punk.

And here's another one you numpties missed. Dirk Wears White Sox - yeah! quality! tho' there's better bootlegs of the songs around it's true...
No mention of Can't Stand The Rezillos??
Or 999?
One more thing - nasty grind #6 is 100% punk - in case you didn't know. It's easy to find

I was just trying to keep the number reasonably low; i like pretty much every known or halfway known "punk" album from those days. I could list about 30 or 40 albums off the top of my head, and those would just be the ones i had when i was a freshman or sophomore in high school.

HOWEVER, "Dirk Wears White Sox" is fucking atrocious.

My list on the previous page includes Can't Stand the Rezillos. One of my fave power pop records of all time. Yeah, I could have included 999 they were great, but when would the list end?

Sorry, going to go way off topic, but I have to second the Rodney effect Gringo mentioned. Especially in a place like the LA metro area thats so spread out, he was a bit of the glue that helped draw in people fromall over and let them know what was new and who was playing where. Yes "4 hours of Phil Spectre Rock" as the Samoans said, but lots of cool stuff mixed in between. I was 14 when I discovered his show, you'd hear the latest Black Flag demo and then maybe he'd follow it up with Love or the Music Machine followed by perhaps an in studio interview with the Ventures. Could you imagine comercial radio ever giving up 8 hours a weekend to someone like that ever again?

Ok, how about a list of favorite bands that never but an LP out?
